This season is a refusal: to let the future be an afterthought, to let story and voice be privatized, quieted, or erased. As Harmony Birch writes in her zine piece [*Spells for Owning Your Voice*](https://www.missingwitches.com/spells-for-owning-your-voice/): **“They tried to sanitize your wild.”** Pick up those scraps of wild and stitch them into a speech that is free. Rachel Pollack reminds us to work with a different physics of possibility: **“At any moment the future is as real as the present.”** Ask braver, more haunted questions — *What if the future is already pushing back at us?* — and listen for the answers in the soil, the margins, the tarot spreads, the small acts you can perform today. Words are tools: “A pencil is a wand and a weapon,” a phrase we returned to in our Mabon conversation. Write the future you will live into, not the future you’ve been taught to accept. Insist upon our collective flourishing. --- ### 🌑 This week’s prescription: 1. **Clear a small altar.** Sweep a patch of floor or a tabletop; open a window. Let the air move through the room. (Physical clearing is magical clearing.) 2. **Ask a deeper question.** Take a card, a pen, or a breath and ask: *“What can I imagine otherwise?”* — write the first line that arrives. Then ask: *What is the question behind the question?* and pull a card. From these two messages, play word witch. Craft a line of power directly to you now, from your future self. 3. **Own your voice.** Read aloud these words from Harmony Birch’s piece: > I move with the light of life, > Of Mother Earth's sweet love > and assurance of blooming. Say it to your body. Ride the waves. 3. **Send it outward.** Post the line you wrote somewhere into the digital thicket, or leave it as an offering at a crossroads or garden path.
