May the warmth of the Sun come to us and through us.
As we celebrate the Summer Solstice, we remember:
The light we want for the world has to come through us.
In this week’s Litha episode, we sat down with the radiant Uma Gahd, star of Canada’s Drag Race, co-founder of the Montreal chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and true Matante of magic.
She reminded us:
“There’s that really popular quote going around — I believe it was Dan Savage who said it:
'We would go to a funeral in the morning, a protest in the afternoon, and then dance all night.'
The dancing all night part is really important, because you have to remember why you’re fighting.
You’re fighting to protect your joy, your happiness, your strength, your calm —
you’re fighting to protect your community.
When the Sun is out, soak it up.
And when it’s not, shine a light.”
🎶 Cat Stevens sang it too:
I think I see the light coming to me,
Coming through me, giving me a second sight.
So shine, shine, shine,
Shine, shine, shine,
Shine, shine, shine.
🧙♀️ Witchcraft + Collective Power
In response to a reel from Margaret Cho, asking why witchcraft hasn’t toppled oppressive regimes, Amanda Yates Garcia offered this wise spellcraft:
“Because we need to be doing spells to build our collective power and solidarity,
or there is no means to topple him.
We should be doing spells for our ultimate goals,
a collective movement toward sustainable systems rooted in care,
otherwise all our focus on MAGA just makes it stronger.”
So let’s cast carefully. Let’s cast collectively.
Let’s remember what we’re for, not just what we’re against.

Litha: A Weavers-Only Divination Ritual RSVP
Sunday, June 22, 8:00 PM - 09:30 PM EDT
Featuring Zoë Flowers + Amy Miranda
As the wheel turns and the sun reaches its blazing peak, we invite you to gather with us in ritual, reflection, and celebration.
To mark the Summer Solstice — and the one-year anniversary of the Missing Witches Oracle Deck — we’re hosting a special Weavers-only circle. Together, we’ll read for the collective, honour the light, and explore what is ripening in our own lives.
🔥 What to Expect at the Litha Weavers Circle
We’ll begin by tuning in to the season with a simple reflective prompt: What has come to light in me this year? What am I ready to illuminate?
Risa and Amy will guide a collective oracle reading using the Missing Witches deck, followed by a powerful shared reading from poet and healer Zoë Flowers, whose work centres on transformation, justice, and healing.
We’ll also receive a reading from Amy Miranda, creator of What We’ve Forgotten, inviting us into sacred clarity and ancestral light.
✨ The first part of the circle will be recorded for the podcast.
🌒 We’ll then move into private, unrecorded breakout rooms for shared reflection and card pulling.
Bring a journal and your favourite deck if you’d like to pull alongside us.
Let’s gather to honour the sun, ignite insight, and share space in sacred community.
🧵 This circle is open exclusively to Weavers-tier members of our coven.
If you’ve been thinking about deepening your connection, now’s the moment.
👉 Join the coven at the Weavers level to take part in this beautiful, fiery celebration of light, insight, and becoming.

🌑 Dark Moon in Cancer Ritual for Collective Liberation - RSVP
A Virtual Gathering of Water, Magic, and Power
Join the Missing Witches Coven for a Dark Moon Ritual led by our Mycelial Elder bat Shachar — ordained Kohenet (Jewish priestess), initiated Shakta Tantrika, trained psychic, writer, devotee of the moon, with 30+ years experience in creating, co-creating and leading ritual. Under the Dark Moon in Cancer we'll come together for a ritual of collective healing, transformation, and re-enchantment. Together, we’ll invoke the sacred elements, honour the watery wisdom of Selene and Calypso, and root our magic in grief, joy, and radical imagination.
This New Moon Circle will be a ritual to transform our political systems.
Through song, guided meditation, elemental invocations, and spellwork, we’ll vision a world rebuilt from moon-blessed waters — from ancestral tears, renewing rivers, oceanic truths, and the waves of emotion that carry us into action. This ritual is a space to recharge our resistance, flow around what blocks us, and conjure waves of empathy and transformation into the systems that need it most.
Let us root in the dark, rise with the tide, and remember: Water be our teacher, water carry us.
