We are in the dark half of the year, in the year of the snake. I’ve been surfing volcanos for awhile, so I am happy to try to provide some solace in this time of scorched Earth and Rage bait. Fuel. Here’s what I know about rage, I fed mine to the wolves in a forest as part of my initiation - I’ll tell that story in my next book – but since then I have worked to transmute the rage into power.
As someone who survived a man like Donald Trump, only to then be in a world manipulated by the same tactics, it would be easy to throw in the towel.
The hits just keep on coming. It would be easy to say the whole thing is rotten.
But I read energy these days better than I read words and what I know is that the truth is moving fast, and when the truth is moving fast we know divinity is in the room. You don’t have to call it that if you don’t want to. Call it energy, or electricity or vibration. but it’s the connective tissue of the Universe. It is ripe for change.
For – new Earth. That’s where the Volcano comes in. This card has come up so many times in sessions with clients the last few weeks, the odds are in the billions that this could occur so frequently with the number of decks I use, and the way clients pick for themselves. I couldn’t have made it happen.
Just like in life, in sessions, people usually have a visceral reaction to the word volatility but I know the way this card reads and ends (It’s from Earth Magic by Stephen Farmer) – and it ends with – You truly have nothing to fear.
And that’s the truth of what is happening on the planet right now, it’s the only way new earth is created, lava, volcano. It is a metaphor and a wave we are riding. One that is scorching the Earth, literally burning away what we all thought we knew about humanity, leadership, politics, and goodness and showing us the truth: that these systems are built on rot, to serve a ruling class, a system of capitalism and greed that was never meant to be sustainable. Fire is the most transformative element. It has been used for centuries to transform one thing into another.
The new Earth is being formed. We are meant to surf the volcano. The eruptions, the unpredictability: we are meant to keep moving through the chaos, to find the others, to sow the new seeds, and to burn the ways of The Uninvited. It may feel like you don’t know how to surf, or you may feel like you got hit in the face with the board, that is part of this reckoning, the crossing of the threshold on the hero’s journey isn’t always voluntary.
Wake up. Surf the wave of lava and stand on the business of bringing the revolution through by engaging the medicine of the land, grabbing the reigns to engage Universal Law and asking for support with your surfboard from the Universe itself. We are the wave. We are the eruption. We are the volcano that is going to continue to drive the momentum to create a new Earth. We can’t let them steer any longer. Don’t dump more rage into the cauldron, transmute it into power.
