We’re back from Sabbatical, and it’s time to bring back the Rx.
It’s scary to build a project together lovingly with your hands, your stories, little bits of scraped-together time and resources — to see it gently flourishing, a community alive with magic, a rhythm of stories — and then to walk away for 30 days. To do — and not just say — that we’re going to resist the terror-on-the-gas-pedal rhythm of late-stage capital.
Even through chemo and radiation I never let go completely. Amy and Marc — my partners in magic and in life — carried me on their shoulders and kept the whole project of living going. And still I’d come crawling back, bald and horizontal, because I love this working. So I kept asking Amy: I know we’re taking August off, but do you want to…?
And in her wisdom, she held the line.
Amy drew a circle around August. August was a fallow field. For our minds. For other parts of our lives to take up space. For faith. For offline workings. For road trips to the very edge of the country, swimming under the Full Moon at campsite #13. For diving to the bottom of dark lakes. For rain songs. For the long, slow aftermath of healing. And for deeply visioning, and calling forward from the heart of all our cells, the living roots and bright shoots that keep coming up through the poison paths of fascism.
And the wildest truth is: our community flourished while we were quiet. Members held space for each other. Held circles. Tended to themselves and to the garden we are making of our coven space. New members found the coven and were welcomed joyfully.
I can see more clearly now the things we can do next to make our coven healthier — like coming back to a garden with fresh eyes, new trellises, and seeds.
And here we are on the other side of August, alive. Preparing for the launch of our Autumn Season of Missing Witches (we can’t wait to share it with you). Mapping rituals of resistance and re-enchantment with our coven. Believing in a future for us all, step by step.
This week’s prescription is:
🎵 Wherever You Go — The Avalanches, Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry, CLYPSO.
Remember: We go with you.
With love,
Risa + Amy

🗓️ Thursday, Sep 11, 1–2 PM ET
Hosted by Risa
We are so excited to welcome Liv Albert — host and creator of the wildly popular Let’s Talk About Myths, Baby! podcast — to the circle!
Liv has spent years pulling apart Greek and Roman mythology with humour, irreverence, deep research, and a feminist lens. In this coven-only gathering, she’ll join us for a live conversation about gods, heroes, and witches of the ancient world. The official conversation will be recorded for the podcast, but after that, we’ll turn off the recording and keep chatting — just us witches.
Bringing in Disabled Justice and Collective Access to the Coven — Meeting 1
🗓️ Friday, Sep 12, 7–9 PM ET
Hosted by Jasmin
It’s time to craft our own Access and Inclusion Manifesto — one that reflects our values, practices, and collective vision. Together we’ll draw inspiration from transformative works like Sins Invalid’s 10 Principles of Disability Justice and co-create a living framework that centres interdependence, care, and collective magic.
This gathering is for reflection, storytelling, and imagining how our coven can embody disability justice in practice.

Invites For Weavers Only 🕸️
Weekly Cauldron
🗓️ Every Monday, alternating between 12 PM + 3 PM ET
Hosted by Amy
The Weekly Cauldron returns — a deeply fertile open space of connection and growth. A place to bring what you’re working on, wondering about, or weaving into being.
Weavers Full Moon Ritual: We Are The Harvest, We Are The Conjuring
🗓️ Monday, Sep 8, 8–9:30 PM ET
Hosted by Risa
The world is burning and flooding, and still we gather. Still we weave. Still we cackle and conjure and plant seeds of friendship, justice, joy, weirdness, POWER. That’s our witchcraft.
The Harvest Moon eclipse comes to remind us: we’ve pulled ourselves from small dark places into the light before, and what we plant now matters. Together we’ll honour what has flowered from the past, and we’ll call aloud the future.
All our events are free for paying members of the Missing Witches Coven. We believe in accessible, community-supported magic. When you support the project, you help weave a sustainable spell of collective care, creativity, and resistance. Thank you.
Sending love and flourishing harvests,
Risa + Amy
