“Yellow Dancer” by Jon Labillois - from the NWSM website

The MWRF 2025 is now CLOSED!! TOGETHER, THE MW COVEN RETURNED $13703 TO OUR LOCAL INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES!! $3871 OF WHICH WENT TO THE NWSM!! Please keep the spirit of this action going throughout the year - follow indigenous leadership, artists and authors, learn about the First Nations people of your native land, educate yourself and others on the landback movement, consider how to make reparations in any way you can: donate, celebrate, protest, support!!

Every year we at Missing Witches, and our coven, and extended Witch community spend the month of May joyfully raising money for Indigenous support orgs (especially the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal!) and gathering together with magical friends to spotlight Indigenous voices through conversations about Indigenous Futures! Check out those special episodes here:

Here's a quick rundown of how our fundraiser works:

1. Make a donation of $10 or more to your local Native Women’s Shelter or Indigenous Support Org or DONATE to The Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal.

2. Take a screenshot of your receipt and email it to missingwitches@gmail.com with the subject line: REPARATION

3. Be entered to win one of over TWENTY fabulous prizes (full 2025 list below) donated by luminaries of the Witch community.  For every $10, you’ll get one entry into the draw for these prizes.  So if you donate $50, you’ll get five entries, and so on.

4.  Automatically receive coupon codes for a discount from TWO of our favourite Witchy Businesses: HAUS WITCH in Salem, and Michelle Pajak-Reynolds Jewelry!!!

Reminder: YOU make your donation to your local aid org, YOU keep your tax receipt, and WE never touch the money - it all goes straight into helping the world to be a better place.

It’s May!  That means it’s time for our annual fundraiser in support of First Nations women.

As always, Risa and Amy will be contributing our own profits for the month of May to support the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal.

In addition, we’re inviting our community to make a donation/reparation.  We know that most of you are coming to us from the United States, so, wherever you are, we encourage you to find a local Native Women’s Shelter to support.  (some places don’t have First Nations specific orgs so we’ll also accept donations to shelters for vulnerable women and children, sex workers, or victims of violence, but we would appreciate a focus on support of indigenous people.).

This year, as fear and violence rage across the world, we're opening the fundraiser to support all displaced people. According to the latest UN figures, nearly 300 million people in 72 countries required humanitarian assistance and protection in 2024. So if you have a connection to people displaced by California Wildfires, to Palestine, Sudan, Myanmar, Ukraine... we'll count donations to organizations that help affected women and children around the world. At this point in 2025, we can simply take a look around and we'll find someone who needs help.

We are following the leadership of indigenous communities in weaving and widening these circles of protection.

SO here’s what you’re gonna do...

Make your donation of ten dollars or more.  Take a screenshot of your receipt and email it to missingwitches@gmail.com with the subject line REPARATION, tell us what country you’re in, plus the amount of your donation.  The amount is important because for every $10, you’ll get one entry into the draw for these prizes.  So if you donate $50, you’ll get five entries, and so on.  The fundraiser runs through the month of May, prize winners will be chosen at random and announced on June first.

Think of it as a ritual sacrifice to honour a possible world.

As always, this fundraiser is an experiment, so if you think it’s a cool idea, PLEASE help us make it successful by making a small reparation to First Nations women who have been systematically marginalized and disenfranchised both socially and economically.  Let’s raise some real money, make real change, and be blown away by what we can do when we work together.

2025 PRIZE LIST:

EVERYONE who donates will automatically receive coupon codes for a discount from TWO of our favourite Witchy Businesses: HAUS WITCH in Salem, and Michelle Pajak-Reynolds Jewelry!!!
