We’re joined by HWIC, HausWitch (in Salem!!) shop owner and author of HausMagick, Erica Feldmann!! She says, “witches were like rock stars to me, the top coolest thing you could ever be in your life.”
Erica offers us a grounding meditation, and we chat about work life balance, ethical entrepreneurship, and being a good (queer-friendly, feminist, anti-racist) boss. We lament about late-stage capitalism and discuss the ways around it and through. She has set for herself the practice/challenge of How anti-capitalist can a gift shop be? and she pushes herself and her business away from greed. “As a business owner, I’m here to say: Just pay people more.”
Then Erica takes us home with some tips on feeling safe, comfortable, creative and witchy in your own space. “What your home needs is for you to think about what it needs. Let yourself be in communication with your home. What you need from it and what it needs from you.”
